Opening Ceremonies were a sham!

OK so the opening ceremonies of the 2008 Olympics were too good to be true. China attempted to present a flawless Olympics image to the world by first off faking fireworks. The amazing fireworks display we saw were digitally inserted for television viewing. Apparently they were concerned not all 29 blasts would be captured on camera, but that is not the worst part.

What upsets me is the performance of "Ode to the Motherland" The adorable nine year old with the cute little smile was lip-syncing. Why? Because that wasn't even her! The original girl who sang was deemed not good-looking enough at the last minute. WHAT?!? What is wrong with China...she is a child! How do you think that makes her feel? I was so upset by this because I thought the little girl was cute. Their excuse? the ceremonies Chief director said, "The audience will understand that it's in the national interest."

That is just appalling. Here are pics of the two girls below. OK so her teeth aren't straight...but neither are Jewels and look at her!

The headline of China Daily newspaper read, "Tiny Singer Wins Heart of Nation," and the story said the little girl, "might be only nine years old but she is well on her way to becoming a star." Milli Vanilli watch out!
