Too swampy for Swampstock

In case you haven't heard Tim Mcgraw has cancelled Swampstock until next year. Due to massive flooding and damage by Hurricane Gustav and everyone busy with relief efforts it isn't going to happen.

Tim says, "We have spoken with local officials, and Neighbor's Keeper Foundation wants to lend its support to those relief efforts. Although (we're) personally disappointed, we understand that the priority is people's homes and livelihood in this challenge time."

I just hope big stars like Dierks can still make it next year. So disappointed...they can bring it up here...we would love to have them!!!!

How to wipe your behind and other useful tips

A mom named Kim became seriously concerned when her ADULT son came down with scurvy (a disease resulting from lack of Vitamin C). The reason for his diagnosis...well he thought a well balanced diet of chicken wings and beer would be sufficient.

So Kim teamed up with an author and wrote a book titled, "Good To Go" A Practical Guide to Adulthood," to teach coddled adult children how to perform simple, everyday tasks. So what is included in the book?

  • How to vacuum

  • How to follow a recipe

  • How to boil water

  • How to wash your hands

  • How to wipe your backside (no lie)

This really is a great Christmas gift for any man. I already have two pre-ordered for Drew and Derek!

You can purchase this for $24 here: http://www.penguin.ca/nf/Book/BookDisplay/0,,9780143055693,00.html

RIP

So so sad. Known for his booming voice, the "in a world" guy, the movie trailer guy, Don LaFontaine passed away this past Monday. He produced more than 5,000 movie trailers, 75,000 TV spots, and much more in his 33 year career bringing in millions on his voice alone! Talk about talent.
He passed away after complications in the treatment for an on-going illness. He is survived by his wife singer and actress Nita Whitaker and his three children.
Side note: Did you know Nita was from Shreveport???
He will be missed.
In a world without Don LaFontaine movies will not be the same without those amazing pipes making crappy movies seem like Oscar winning performances. No one can replace him...maybe silence really is golden.
Here is a background video of the man with the golden pipes...Don LaFontaine:

Here is one just for laughs:

Evacuees

So Gustav passed through the Ark La Tex and it wasn't like we expected...hardly anything really, but at least we were prepared. Or were we?

Today we had several calls from listeners unhappy with the evacuees, claiming they were ungrateful during the whole process and wanted nothing but handouts.

Do you agree?

Are they ungrateful?

Is it the news media and their coverage?

If it bleeds it leads, but is this coverage bleeding the Ark La Tex of their desire to volunteer?

Feel free to post comments below and don't forget to take the poll!

$220,000 for the skin off my back...

A German art collector bought a tattoo of the Virgin Mary from a 31-year-old Swiss art collector Tim Steiner for a whopping $220,000. However, the tattoo is still attached to his back- yummy. (The tattoo was created by a Belgian artist named Wim Delvoye...I'm assuming that is why such a big price tag?)

So how does this deal work? Their agreement has two conditions:

  • Tim must show up to art exhibits to show off the tattoo three times a year.

  • When Tim dies, the tattoo will be removed from his body.....and GIVEN to the owner.

GA-ROSS...talk about a conversation piece. What are you going to do with a tattooed flap of skin...ugh! Does he not know he could have saved so much money by getting the tattoo himself???

Wake up and win

If you make $75,000 or more per year, you probably own 4 or more of these. What is it?
